SZU‘s measures in connection with Covid-19

We are constantly monitoring and evaluating the COVID-19 situation. We have taken a number of measures to help minimize the risk of infection. We do everything we can to ensure that these measures have the least impact on the operation of our business and on running orders. Our main goal in this situation is to protect the health of our employees and customers.

Changes in legislation

On 31 March 2016, Act 91/2016 Coll. was published, which amends Act 22/1997 Coll. on technical requirements for products. Act 22/1997 Coll. remains effective in its amended version. The Amendment came into force on 15 April 2016.

At the same time – on 31 March 2016, Act 90/2016 Coll., of 3 March 2016 on conformity assessment of designated marketed products, was published.

Although both these statutes are effective concurrently, there is a significant difference in their fields of application:

When focusing primarily on the areas in which SZU operates, Act 22/1997 Coll., as amended, applies to the Old Approach Directives and their transpositions into the Czech legislation (i.e. the Directives issued before 2014 and the Government Regulations published before 2016).

Act 90/2016 Coll. applies to the New Legislative Framework Directives (issued starting from 2014) and to the Government Regulations issued starting from 2016.

Specifically, it concerns the following regulations:

Government Regulation

EU Directive

Low voltage el. devices (LVD)

118/2016 Coll.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

117/2016 Coll.

Simple pressure vessels (SPVD)

119/2016 Coll.

Lifts (LIFTS)

122/2016 Coll.
